Installations in the Museum of the Central Rhine, Coblenz
„The dioramas fitted into the window niches are framed by panorama photographs. In front of these, everyday objects are collected which we know from other contexts… It is exactly by means of this amazing meeting of everyday things without an actual context that the artist sets off chains of association which instinctively confuse or astound.
Habits of seeing are called into question, attitudes of expectation undermined. It is not least through the reversal of size relations that tense scenes arise, fascinating and threatening at the same time – although, or perhaps because, no human being is ever seen in them…The visitor to the exhibition now becomes a researcher, seeking to discover contexts as if through a microscope, but always finding also his own interior world.”
